Howard Phillips Lovecraft — aka “H.P. Lovecraft” — is considered the father of modern American macabre fantasy that looks at the effect of horrifying creatures and situations upon the human psyche. Lovecraft explored many unusual themes in his fiction, which attracted a small but fiercely loyal readership that included other authors, film-makers, and artists. Lovecraft’s works have inspired many movies, have been translated into games, and still lead people to discuss bizarre and unusual human behavior and beliefs today.
